This Quick Response, Standard Coverage sprinkler has a 5.6 (81) K-factor, and is cULus Listed for both Light and Ordinary Hazard occupancies. The Model VK482&#8217;s fusible element can be recessed up to 1\/2 in (12 mm) above the plane of the ceiling to protect it from damage when used in coolers or any unheated area.\u00a0A two-piece sprinkler\/escutcheon design allows sprinkler installation and testing\u00a0prior to ceiling installation. The escutcheon provides up to 3\/4 in\u00a0(20\u00a0mm) of vertical adjustment and can be removed and re-installed, allowing access above removable ceiling panels without shutting down the sprinkler system and removing the sprinkler.\u00a0The optional insulating boot asssembly can be used to satisfy NFPA 13 requirements for sealing around the barrel of a sprinkler when protecting areas below 40\u00b0F with a wet pipe system.\u00a0\u00a0The Model VK482 is offered in 165\u00b0F (74\u00b0C) and 205\u00b0F (96\u00b0C) temperature ratings. The 205\u00b0F rating better accomodates cooler defrost cycles.
